• WHO WE ARE We are Jack and Kathleen Carman, nine-year residents and homeowners in Tucson, Arizona, formerly of East Moline, Illinois. Jack retired as a supervisor for Alcoa of Riverdale, Iowa, after a thirty year career at the world's largest aluminum mill. Kathleen worked as a real property appraiser for the South Moline Township Assessor's Office, retiring as Chief Deputy in 1994. Since 1982 Kathleen has had her own business as an antiques dealer with experience in personal property appraisal and estate sale management. Since retirement, Jack has participated in all aspects of the business.

• WHAT WE DO We market personal property to maximize the return to the owner. We set up and conduct public sales of the owners' property at the owners' premises. We sort, evaluate and clean all the personal property to be sold. We provide all supplies and labor, advertise and conduct the sale, reconcile the sale proceeds, and submit the owner's share of the proceeds in a timely manner.

• WHAT WE BELIEVE We offer our clients a convenient and stress-free method to dispose of personal property through public sale at the client's site. We are committed to properly evaluating the merchandise to maximize the return to our client and our business using our personal experience and expertise as well as our network of fellow appraisers and dealers. In the performance of our business activities, professional and discrete conduct in ourselves and our staff are of the utmost importance to maintain our personal standards as well as our business reputation. Paramount is honesty in dealing with our clients, our customers, and our staff.

• WHAT WE CHARGE Our customary fee is a competitive 30% of the gross sale amount. In most cases, all costs to conduct the sale are included in our fee. In rare instances where there are some unusual cleaning or transportation costs, we may negotiate related costs with the owner.
